Matheson History Museum

Located in the heart of historic downtown Gainesville, the Matheson History Museum is home to the 1867 Matheson House, permanent and temporary exhibits on Alachua County and Florida history, and a local history library and archives filled with resources for the researcher and the curious alike.
Kika Silva Pla Planetarium
The Kika Silva Pla Planetarium is a 34-foot in diameter, domed theater that seats 60 people. The planetarium uses two projection systems.

McGuire Center for Lepidoptera & Biodiversity
The center houses Florida Museum specimens formerly stored at the Allyn Museum in Sarasota, and other collections from UF and the Florida Division of Plant Industry. With more than 10 million specimens, the McGuire Center houses one of the world's largest Lepidoptera collections.
Historic Haile Homestead
The Historic Haile Homestead at Kanapaha Plantation is owned by the Alachua Conservation Trust (ACT), Gainesville, FL, and the Haile family trust. A one-half interest in the house and 40 acres of surrounding land were donated to ACT in 1996 by members of the Haile Family.
Artisans Guild Gallery
The Artisans' Guild Gallery is the city's only source for regionally-produced handmade fine arts and crafts. The gallery was organized in 1970 and boasts over 50 members. We are proud to have been voted by Gainesville Magazine as the best place to buy a handmade gift.
